I have a secondary D元60p gen8, an identical server I can try to swap the hardware out to that at some point as well. I have heard the only potential work around for this problem is using the remote access tool and doing it that way but I don't have it set up on my network yet to try that.Īny suggestions greatly appreciated.

In this case I insert the thumb drive and the software finds the data but cannot find the windows install files and without that I cannot continue with the process. And I get the same error.ħ) The intelligent provisioning also includes an HP guided OS installation which will do the entire provisioning / installation process step by step for you. The server will detect the drive but just gets caught in an endless boot loop and gives me no chance at getting past that pointĦ) Thinking the drives may have an authentication problem, due to using non standard SSD drives in place of the HP stockers, I pulled a couple HP OEM 15K SAS drives that are a known match to this machine.

Meaning, just testing one SSD in AHCI mode in an attempt to install windows results in the same or very similar warning or problem at exactly the same point.ĥ) I've pre-installed windows 10 on another machine here and attempted to get that to boot the system as well by swapping the drive from the donor machine to the server itself running AHCI and set proper boot order. That's all well and good, but the controller IS set to bootable in the bios.Ĥ) Both the RAID controller AND the AHCI controller options give nearly the same identical errors. I can seem to delete partitions and create them, but regardless of every attempt at doing so it says that windows cannot be installed to this drive and askes me to confirm that this controller is set as a bootable option in the BIOS. I can get to the initial OS partitioning process and the raid array is discovered and displayed. Neither option works.ģ) When I select F11 at start up I can boot to the USB thumb drive no problem. Also tried this by using the HP wizard for provisioning the drives, which sets up your RAID 0 automatically. All it means is that the HP array system will not control the LEDs for that drive(s). The software gives me a warning for not using genuine HP drives but that's not a problem. Going into the HP Array Utility (intelligent provisioning) I can see both drives and create a RAID 0 Array no problem. I don't assume this will be a problem?ġ) I have a tested Windows 10 build on a USB thumb drive that I know is good and working on other machines hereĢ) I have two 128GB Samsung SSDs I tried first.

I am installing Windows 10 Pro to get some baseline measurements on system performance before I put a server based OS build on it. I'm in the middle of installing windows 10 on my ProLiant D元60p for use with a cluster project to be used in conjunction with a Dell C4130 GPU server for GPGPU tasking.
